Yesterday, January 13, 2021, Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao attended a virtual conference organized by the League of Provinces of the Philippines with Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF’s) vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. and Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III to discuss the proposed tripartite agreement for the acquisition of COVID-19 vaccines.

The said conference tackled how the vaccine deployment will operate. During the briefing, Governors discussed the road map of the vaccination activity in the country.

“Dalawa po ang ating strategy para sa deployment po natin ng vaccine, ang tawag po dun ay ang geographical at sectoral. Yung sa sectoral po, lahat po ng probinsya prioritize po natin yung mga health workers or frontliners. Meron pong framework ang ating DOH dyan.”, Secretary Galvez discussed during the conference.

“Sa geographical naman po, may limitation po tayo sa vaccine kaya for Moderna and Pfizer for example, uunahin po natin ang mga urban cities kasi sila po ang may mga facilities at lab to preserve these vaccines.”, Secretary Galvez added.

Galvez encouraged the LGUs to also invest in the procurement of the vaccine but rest assured that the national government will be providing the vaccine to those LGUs who don’t have enough funds for the procurement of vaccines.

Recently, Governor Cadiao and the provincial government of Antique allotted Php 10M for the procurement of vaccine and municipal mayors also pledged their budget amounting to Php 37.9M as of January 12 intended for their constituents and their vaccination plan. #JAN2021
