Provincial roads concreting continue despite delay

The implementation of Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan ang Daan Tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran or KALSADA Program 2016 of the National Government through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) continues amidst several interruptions due to bad weather conditions happened this month of October 2017.

The program is composed of two subprojects in Nagdayao to Pis-anan Road in Sibalom and La Rioja-Pandanan-Valderrama Road that started last December 8, 2016.

Barangay District III requests additional concrete road

Barangay Captain Elmor Vego of District III Sibalom, Antique passed a resolution to Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao for a 200-meter concrete road extension worth 2 million pesos for Evelio B. Javier (EBJ) Street.
The EBJ Street with a total length of 300 meters had already completed its one hundred meter concretization that cost one million pesos last March 2017.The said street is part of the Farm-to-Market Road project implemented by the provincial government that will serve as a connecting road between Egaña, Sibalom and Sitio Puro of District III.“The residents find it hard to access the road during the rainy season, and the EBJ Street is for farmers…

PFDA Turns Over New San Jose dB Fish Port to LGU

The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) turned over the New Fishing Port to the municipality of San Jose de Buenavista on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
The construction of the said fishing port amounted to 40 million pesos.
According to Mr. Custodio Balaowing, OIC/Port Manager of the Iloilo Fish Port Complex, the services of the fishing port is not only for the town of San Jose but also for its neighboring towns in the province of Antique.
Balaowing said that the fishing port will further enhance the livelihood of the fisherfolks, bring business to the commercial fishing boat operators, and improve the fishing industry in the municipality of San Jose de Buenavista.
He also mentioned that the cold storage facilities given by the Department of Agriculture (DA) will possibly be used in the San Jose fish port.
