Dr. Azucena  Dayanghirang National Nutrition Council Deputy Executive Director, has announced that Antique was considered as one of a priority areas for Nutrition Plan of Action in the country.

Dr. Dayanghirang said that there were 28, 925 stunted and 8,800 wasted children in the province. 

This was stated by her during the launching of Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) last June 13, at the Integrated Provincial Health Office Conference Room. 

Governor Rhodora Cadiao supported the launching and signing of the covenant commitment for nutrition problem in the province. 

Cadiao said that the number of malnourished children in the province is dismaying on her part as Governor but she assured that there’ll be a positive outcome for the children to improve. 

“The children are Antique’s future that is why it is important to promote nutrition in our province”, Cadiao added.

The launching was attended by Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Leoncio Abiera , IPHO chief Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo, DILG Provincial Director Victorio Pagapulan, SP Member Dr. Egidio Elio, municipal nutrition officers and different government agencies of the province.
