PDAO celebrates the 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week

July 24, 2018- Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) organized an event for the Persons with Disabilities with a theme "Kakayahan at Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran" at the Evelio B. Javier Stadium.

The activity was in celebration for the 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week which aimed to promote the skills and capabilities of PWDs.

The main concern of the event was to uplift the social welfare of the community.
The first part of the program started with an invocation given by the selected students from Antique Integrated School followed by the Philippine National anthem and the Provincial theme song. The celebration was attended by various government officials--- Hon. Rhodora J. Cadiao, Governor Province of Antique; Engr. Edgar D. Denosta, Vice Governor Province of Antique; Hon. Fernando C. Corvera, SP Member; Engr. Elmer C. Untaran, Municipal Mayor of San Jose; Mrs. Judy N. Malunda, OIC-PSWD Officer; Mr. Paulo Castillo, Designated PDAO Head.

Vice Governor Denosta welcomed and congratulated the participants. In his message, he said that "Tatapun kag palanggaon gid naton ang mga PWD."

Governor Dodod Cadiao added that "Tunay nga pag- aruga kag tunay nga malasakit para kananda." She also mentioned about the programs for differently disabled persons. "Kung ang program desk niyo para gid sa kaaraydan kang mga PWDs itao gid ang budget nga para sa inyo."

On the other hand, the second part of the program was intended for PWDs to showcase their talents in the "PWD's Got Talent, The Concert". Candidates from 13 municipalities together with Antique Integrated School joined "The search for Miss Inclusion Advocate" to be held in the evening.
