Pursuant to the observance of the 25th National Children’s Month celebration with a theme: “Bata Iligtas sa Iligal na Droga” which is aligned with the President’s campaign against illegal drugs, the province of Antique celebrated its annual program of activities last November 28, 2017 at the EBJ Freedom Park San Jose, Antique.

The activity was attended by Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Reynaldo G. Gico, OIC Department of Education and Lazaro G. Petinglay head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO). It was also participated by 7 different schools.

The month of November of every year commemorates the adoption of the convention of rights to the child by United Nations General Assembly on 20 November 1989, and seeks to instill its significance in the Filipino consciousness. This is to recognize the vital role of the youth in nation building and shall promote and protect their overall well-being.

“The provincial government has the responsibility to protect our children in Antique”, Cadiao said.

The activity was launched last November 6, 2017. The province wanted to ensure the welfare of the Antiqueño children by implicating programs and projects thus activities like radio programs especially on child labor, simultaneous lecture on sexual abuse including the anti-bullying act, zumba exercises and dental missions.
By allocating appropriate budgets, the program implementation is being successfully sustained under the leadership of the Governor.
