Despite the demanding technical requirements for the implementation of the system, the province passed the technical evaluation.

“Antique was the first in Western Visayas to pass the technical evaluation of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS) and was allowed to implement the system thus the training was requested”, said Julian.

The training tackled about the new system to be used in the Accounting and Budget Department of the province which aims to improve the data processing and quality of the financial management system which is in line with the harmonization of the Philippines Government Accounting Standards (PGAS) with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

The new accounting system benefits not only the accounting office’s financial management but it generates real-time, reliable and accurate reports that will help improve financial management, operational management and consolidated data structures for easy data tracking for other offices.

With the operation of the eNGAS, it shall improve management of government’s contingent liabilities and financial exposure, enhance government accounting, auditing systems, and standards, and strengthen external and participatory audit capacity.
