Out of the 1,490 municipalities all over the country, San Jose de Buenavista bagged the title as the Best Municipal Police Station during the Philippine National Police (PNP) awarding ceremony last August 9 in recognition of outstanding individuals and groups in police service.

The awarding was held in Camp Crame as part of the 116th anniversary of Philippine National Police, which replaced the Philippine Constabulary back in 1901.

President Rodrigo Duterte himself, together with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Officer-In-Charge Catalino Cuy, and PNP Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa gave the plaque of recognition, formally and officially received by San Jose dB Mayor Elmer C. Untaran, and Sangguniang Bayan members Erech Alocilja and Chris John Banusing.

The San Jose Municipal Police Station is currently under the supervision of PCInsp. Juvy E. Cordero.
Friendly and costumer-care services, less casualties during the war on drugs, and the mass installation of CCTV cameras all over the municipality were the significant and distinctive factors which paved the way for the recognition of the said police station, said San Jose dB Sangguniang Bayan (SB) member Erech “Dodong Erech” Alocilja.

The town mayor, Mr. Elmer Untaran, is an ardent supporter of the police personnel, especially in his financial aid for enforcement and civic operations of the municipal police station.

“Padayon ang pagtugro kang proteksyon kang atun kapulisan... Dapat kita magsarig sa atun kapulisan (Patuloy ang pagbibigay ng proteksyon ng ating kapulisan… Dapat tayo’ng magtiwala sa ating mga pulis),” Mayor Untaran said.

“Maintain kag dugangan (at dagdagan),” the mayor added when asked if San Jose dB municipal police station plans to maintain their recognized performance.

For SB Alocilja’s part, the said award gave extra encouragement and high morale to their San Jose PNP Officers.
