The Department of Transportation (DOTr) allocated an amount of Php 140 Million for the development of the Evelio B. Javier (EBJ) Airport at Funda Dalipe, San Jose, Antique.

According to Vice Governor Edgar D. Denosta, the Php 40 Million will be allocated for the improvement of the asphalt of the relay and for extension of the runway. The Philippine Airlines (PAL) already conducted an assessment and they said that EBJ Airport is viable but there’s a surface that needs to be repaired.

The Php 100 Million will be transferred to the Provincial Government to use to purchase a lot beside the airport for expansion and for terminal and parking area purposes.

“The resolution that grants the authority to transfer was already approved by Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao, but the Memorandum of Agreement is still in the process,” Denosta said.

“The Provincial Government created a committee who will transact or negotiate to the lot owners beside the airport,” Denosta added.

There is an additional Php 110 Million budget for 2018 thru the intervention of Antiqueña Senator Loren B. Legarda, Chairperson of Senate and Committee on Finance for the continuing development of the said Airport.

Denosta assured that through the budget allocated by the DOTr, with the collaboration of the Provincial Government of Antique, the EBJ airport will soon operate.
