Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol recently visits Antique to turn over assistance to the members of various farmers and fisherfolks associations of the province.

Piñol brings with him fifty (50) units of 20-footer fiber glass boats, five (5) floating tillers, one(1) mini four-wheel drive tractor , six (6) handtractors, threshers, screen house and greenhouse, twenty-six (26) pump and engine sets, and ten (10) irrigation projects which totals to more than PhP 47 million worth of farm assistance.

Piñol said this project by the Duterte’s administration thru the Department of Agriculture (DA) aims to help the farmers and fisherfolks of the province to improve their means of living.

According to Piñol the three (3) major problems in the Philippine Agriculture; the lack of technology, financing, and marketing which today’s administration wanted to change.

“Three Billion Pesos worth of programs and projects will be given to the Province of Antique by next year through the intervention of Senator Loren B. Legarda,” Piñol added.

Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao expressed her gratitude to Secretary Piñol for providing assistance for the farmers and fisherfolks of the province.
