The Provincial Government of Antique under the administration of Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao will give an additional of Php 2 Million worth of livelihood assistance for Sacada beneficiaries this year.

Mrs. Angeline Javier, Sacada Desk Staff, said that the Provincial Government would distribute live animals, sari-sari store and tri bike for Sacada beneficiaries’ province-wide as their livelihood assistance. Mrs. Javier said that the purpose of this program is to provide an extra source of income to Sacada.

According to Mrs. Javier, in the month of July to September 2017 they will conduct the massive project needs assessment for the beneficiaries who are qualified to avail livelihood assistance.

“In the last quarter of the year, livelihood assistance will be ready for distribution,” Mrs. Javier said.
The Sacada Desk staff also conducts a workshop and financial literacy which help Sacada know their rights and protection as sugar migrant workers.

Last year, the first set of Sacada beneficiaries received live animals, pump boat and tricycle as their livelihood assistance with the total cost of Php 1.8 Million.

Mrs. Javier said that there are field staffs that monitor the status of live animals which were distributed last year.

Sacada beneficiaries should take care the livelihood assistance given by the Provincial Government because it will help them to support their everyday living, Javier added.
