The Regional Assessment Team lead by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted a validation on the Provincial Government of Antique, which is vying for the Regional Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) Awards, Provincial Category, last November 16.
Mr. Deo Orquejo, of DILG Western Visayas Regional Office, led the evaluating team that was composed of the DSWD, CSC, Environmental Management Bureau, DOH, DOLE, and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao stated that she and Vice Governor Edgar Denosta decided to bid for the award which they consider as a way to strengthen the impact of the current programs being implemented in the province. She further said that whatever would be found as lapses during the evaluation, will be looked into as areas for development.
The team evaluated the performance of the province and assessed through ocular inspection and analyses of documents. They also gave feedbacks to the functionaries or staffs from the offices concerned.
EXCELL Awards is a continuing project of the DILG VI for best managed local government in the region, showcasing their achievement in governance, administration, social services, economic development and environmental management initiatives.
